Arthur Lyle Thrall

Arthur Lyle Thrall passed away October 15, 2016 at Cottesmore of Life Care in Gig Harbor, WA at the age of 93. He was born on March 20, 1923 to Samuel and Olga Thrall in Tacoma, WA. He grew up in Tacoma and Gig Harbor and graduated from Gig Harbor Union High School.

He was employed at the Bremerton Navy Yard when WW2 began and later joined the Army Air Force in the cadet program. The war ended before he graduated and he received an honorable discharge. He attended St Louis University, Parks College and graduated with an Aeronautics Engineering degree. He was called back into the Air Force during Korean War and served in Japan. In 1953 he began a 33 year career with Northwest Airlines as a pilot.

Married to Dorothy Stone Thrall in 1959, they had three daughters Margaret Claar, Polly Thrall, and Barbara Thrall, husband Russ Pfeiffer. They have 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; nephews Sam and Paula Thrall, Tom and Pam Thrall, Bob Thrall, and niece Ellen and John Waclawski are all Gig Harbor residents.
