Mom was born in Osceola, Missouri on December 23, 1922 to Lillie and Wilbur Garrison. Her family moved to Oregon in 1925 by way of Model T. She attended Elkton High School and married her childhood sweetheart, Henry Weatherly. They had one daughter, Nancy. Henry served in WWII and was fatally wounded in Okinawa.

Mom met a handsome U.S. Marine in Drain, Oregon in 1946, and she soon married Dad, Staff Sergeant Michael Cashman. They moved to Tacoma and had four children.

Mom and Dad were devoted to each other and were married for 67 years. Mom kept busy raising children and keeping up with Dad’s hobbies, while taking an active part in PTA and Girl Scouts. During the empty nest period our parents enjoyed horseback riding trips, fishing, gardening, motor homing and grandparenting.

Mom passed away peacefully on August 26, 2016 at Hospice House in University Place. She is survived by her adult children Nancy Doolittle, Mike (Dawn) Cashman, Linda Hanan, Karen Cashman, and Sherri Cashman; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; brothers Boyd and Dean Garrison, sister Carol Beck, all residing in Oregon and her little dog, Wendi.

She will always be remembered for her love of family, compassion, patience, and most of all her sweet smile.

Graveside service will be held at Haven of Rest 8503 State Route 16 NW, Gig Harbor, WA on Saturday, September 3rd at 11a.m.  A Memorial Service is being planned for October 1st at Resurrection Lutheran Church, at 3p.m, 4301 Browns Pt Blvd NE, Tacoma, 98422.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church or to Franciscan Hospice House, 2901 Bridgeport Way West, UP, WA 98466.
