Glenn Edward Tosten

Glenn E. Tosten of Gig Harbor, WA passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Franciscan Hospice House on Sunday, August 20, 2017.

Glenn was born to William David and Viola (Atherton) Tosten on June 28, 1926 in Mercersburg, PA. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn E. Tosten; his son, Glenn L. (Jane) Tosten of Middleton, DE; his sister, Betty Hause; his stepchildren, Charles (Jodi) Knapp of Gig Harbor, WA and Gloria Smith of Boonsboro, MD; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Olea King, Helen Alsip, and Gladys Baker; his first wife Gloria Lee Pickett; and his stepson William “Bill” Knapp of Binghamton, NY.

Glenn was a Seaman 1st Class in the United States Navy during World War II, in the Pacific Theater. After his time in the military, he was employed by the Western Maryland Railroad, retiring in 1986 after 36 years of service. He will be interred at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA. Funeral Services are being held at Haven of Rest Funeral Home on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 11:00am. Public viewing will begin at 10:00am.
