Glynn Anthony Walker Jr. (Tony/Albino)

4/11/1983 - 3/13/2017

Born Glynn Anthony Walker Jr. to Glynn A Walker Sr. and Meredith (Harvey) Walker on April 11, 1983 and passed away, too soon, on March 13, 2017.

Glynn Anthony Walker Jr., known to those who loved him as Tony, was born in Lakewood, Washington in April 1983.  He came into this world in typical Tony fashion, with a big entrance and on his own terms.  At birth he weighed in at nearly 11 pounds and was born over his mother’s lunch hour.  He never did like to wait around!

While growing up Tony enjoyed exploring the shores of Mason Lake while camping with family and friends; he enjoyed boating, camping, and sitting around the camp fire making s’mores.  Tony loved being outside riding bikes, skateboarding or just goofing off.  He was a very active kid who played hard and liked getting into all kinds of mischief.

Some of that innocent mischief led to more serious mischief starting in Tony’s teenage years and into adulthood.  Sometimes life was a struggle for Tony. He struggled with school and ultimately dropped out before completing 8th grade.  He sometimes struggled with the law and spent time in and out of group homes during his teenage years.  He often struggled with finding his place.  Despite his struggles, he never gave up.  Tony studied and ultimately received his GED, he met and made a life with a woman he loved and he always kept pushing to have good relationships with his kids and extended family.  Tony would easily take responsibility for his actions and was not afraid to apologize when it was necessary.

Tony welcomed his first son, Anthony to the world in October 2000.  Tony enjoyed spending time with Anthony and would always try to pursue relationship with his son.  He truly enjoyed being around him and really wanted to be a part of Anthony’s life.  In August 2005 Tony met Jackie through mutual friends.  Jackie was just finishing high school when they met and fell in love.  Their relationship was off and on for a while, but they got serious in 2008.  They only dated a short time before deciding to expand their family; in 2009 they welcomed their son Mason.  Tony and Jackie loved their growing family and decided to add to the love, so in 2012 they welcomed their first daughter Meredith Grace to the family.  It wasn’t long before they were ready for another baby; in 2013 they welcomed their son Amare to the world.  Then, in 2015 Tony and Jackie welcomed their youngest child, daughter Evelyn to the family.

Tony was passionate about spending time with those he loved.  He often spent time with his children just hanging out, watching movies, playing video games, fishing or watching them swim.  He truly enjoyed their company!  Tony loved being around people; spending time visiting with family and friends.  He enjoyed food, especially his dad’s cooking!  He would often put in requests for ribs or fried chicken; he especially loved his dad’s BBQ.  He thoroughly enjoyed annoying his sisters, but in the loving and caring way that only a little brother can.  Tony was a loving, fun and funny person.  He loved to talk and goof around, and was often the life of the party.  He was a big personality, full of jokes and life and tons of character and because of all those things he has left a big space in our hearts.

Tony was a devoted partner and father.  He is preceded in death by his mother Meredith (Sandy) Walker, and his grandparents, Barbara and Stan Harvey and Grace Winfrey.  Tony is survived by his loving partner Jackie Stevens, his five children: Anthony, Mason, Gracie, Amare and Evie, his father Glynn Walker Sr. and his sisters: Lynn Stehr (Kelby) and Julie Walker (Noah).  There will be a celebration of Tony’s life at Puget Sound Christian Center, 4020 S. 56th St, Tacoma on Friday, March 24, 2017.  Please contact Julie Walker or Jackie Stevens for additional details.

Should friends desire, contributions may be made to Puget Sound Christian Center, 4020 S. 56th St. Suite 210, Tacoma, WA 98409.

We would love to hear your memories of Tony; please share your stories by signing the online guestbook.
