Orien Roger Rusk

Orien “Roger” Rusk, 67 of Port Orchard Washington passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 from cancer at his home surrounded by his family.  Roger’s favorite pass times were enjoying the outdoors, hunting, cars, spending time with his family and grandchildren and riding his Harley Davidson.

Roger was born on April 25, 1950 in Portland Oregon to Orien and Glenys (Clifton) Rusk. Roger is survived by his wife Crystal of two years, daughter Collette (Ron) Neal of Groton, CT, daughter Amanda (McCollum) Rusk of Port Orchard, WA, three grandchildren Gracie, Korbin and Azlynn, 4 sisters, 1 brother and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, 1 sister Sharon Whitson and 1 brother Darrell Rusk.

Roger was a Vietnam Veteran and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for his service as a Private First Class. Roger enjoyed working and recently retired after 33 years from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard only months before his passing.  He received countless awards during his service at the shipyard.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1130 Monday, January 29, 2018 at Haven of Rest, 8503 State Route 16 NW Gig Harbor WA 98332. Honor escort from Chapel to Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent for full military service at 2pm. Roger & Crystal’s home after for anyone who would like to come.
