Richard George Bowe

Richard George Bowe MD, a Gig Harbor resident since 1972, died November 28th, 2017. Dick practiced ophthalmology in Tacoma for 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, golf, family reunions, and travel. Dick was a past president of the Pierce County Medical Society, and served on several non-profit boards including Symphony Tacoma, Bates Technical College, Community Health Care, and Multicare Foundation.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sara; daughters Laurie Ayers, Port Orchard, and Katherine Hodgins (Eric) of Pittsboro, North Carolina; son, David (Diane), Seattle; and six grandchildren, Jake, Claire, Lena, Anders, Ben, and Sebastian.

Remembrances may be made to Symphony Tacoma or University of Washington School of Medicine Alumni Association/UW Medicine Scholarship Fund via the University of Washington Foundation.
