Sharon Phyllis Anderson

Sharon Phyllis (Greenough) Anderson passed away peacefully on June 22nd with family by her side. She was born January 15th, 1941 in Sedro-Woolley, Washington where she spent her childhood growing up in a large and loving family. As a youngster she spent many summers working in the berries and bulb fields of the Skagit Valley, working very hard and saving her money for nice clothes and having fun with her sisters and friends.

Sharon was an adventurer who loved to experience life and was never afraid of a challenge. She taught her daughters and grandchildren to follow their dreams and to take whatever risks were necessary in order to accomplish those dreams. Because Sharon had so many talents and interests, she worked in many different occupations and held many different titles during her working career. She was a beautician in her younger days; an alcohol/drug abuse counselor where she helped hundreds of people gain sobriety; a real estate agent; one of the very few female crane operators at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, receiving numerous safety awards; and even a long distance truck driver, logging thousands of miles across the western and southern states. We have always been so proud of her independence, her strong determination and her quest for adventure.

Sharon’s interests outside of work were gardening, dancing, traveling, golfing, making miniature furniture and spending time with her family. She was the kind of mom who would drop anything she was doing if someone needed her - and that was often. Whether it was taking the grandkids to baseball or piano practice, babysitting on a moment’s notice, or just spending the day shopping or making Christmas cookies, she was always eager to help and happy to join in on the family fun. She was so very proud of her grandchildren.

Sharon was fortunate to enjoy the past 17 years with her boyfriend Robert “Bob” Klinkert of Belfair. Although they never married, they were nearly inseparable. Together they enjoyed family gatherings, road trips, and occasional stops at a casino where Sharon enjoyed some very good luck with the slot machines! Although he never gave up trying, Sharon would never accompany Bob on his hunting trips, something we all teased her about from time to time. Bob was a dedicated and faithful friend to Sharon, especially during her last year of life. We are forever thankful for his love and devotion.

Sharon spent the last several years battling various health issues but she did so with great strength and bravery.  Although we miss her terribly we are so grateful she is no longer in pain. She is finally free. We know she is now in the arms of our Father and with those friends and family members that passed before her. We also know we will see her again.

Survivors include her boyfriend Bob; daughter Shari (Jim) Hagey of Port Orchard; daughter Pamela Anderson also of Port Orchard; grandson Jonathan Devin of Chicago; grandson Richard Anderson of Tacoma; grandson Jordan (Deirdre) Jacobsen of Belfair; granddaughter Kayla (Quinn) Hagey of Los Angeles; and great granddaughter Mia Grace Jacobsen of Belfair. Sharon also leaves behind dear friend James Blair Anderson of Port Orchard, her ex-husband and close friend through all the years. Their friendship was very special to her.

Memorial Services in her honor will be held at a later date.
