Oh, Susie! What a Sweetheart. It has been many years since we've worked together, but I have warm happy memories of Susie. Such a delight! I can still see her face lighting up and hear her happy voice smiling with us in the staff room, classroom, and after hours. I enjoyed hearing Susie telling us of her and Conrad's boating experiences, especially the Swiftshore races! We taught at EPO, an "open-concept" school (no walls between classrooms): When I was pregnant and needing to rush to the restroom during morning reading class, thoughtful Susie turned her teaching station around so she could see me and my students...that way I could just "run" without having to take time to ask her to "watch my class". We still decorate our Christmas tree with the cute little walnut shell ornament,with tiny baby in it, Susie found one weekend at a craft show and then gave to me as our first son's first Christmas ornament. When memories of Susie come to mind, my world brightens. Never a mean word about or to anyone...really funny ones, yes! So very sorry hear about Susie's passing. So very blessed and happy she was in my life.

Dear Conrad and Michael,
I was so saddened to learn of Susie's passing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I still remember with great fondness our sailing expeditions and other good times. As you probably know, I have been living on the east coast for some time, so I am unable to attend the memorial service. I wish you strength in the days ahead, as you deal with this great loss.
