Donald John Crounse passed away March 30th, 2024 at the age of 98. He was born on May 10th, 1925 in Tacoma, Washington to Earl and Rose Crounse. He graduated from Stadium High School of Tacoma in 1943 and went directly into the US Navy for service in WWII and Korea. He spent service time on an escort carrier and battleship and was present at the signing of the Peace Agreement with Japan in Tokyo Bay.
Don married Patricia Latshaw (The girl across the street) in 1949. Shortly after Don was recalled to active duty for the Korean war, stationed in Honolulu and in the South Pacific. He was discharged in 1951. Don worked for Pacific Northwest Bell in Tacoma and Seattle for 38 years, retiring as a marketing manager in 1983. Don and Pat have two sons, Steven J. and Christopher J. of California and Washington respectively.
After retirement, Don and Pat traveled extensively abroad and within the United States, eventually settling in Tucsan, Arizona for their winter residence, and spending summers at their home in Longbranch, Washington.
Don is survived by his two sons, Steven Crounse of Half Moon Bay, California and Christopher Crounse of Gold Bar, Washington. Other surviving relatives included nephew William Crounse of Bellevue, Washington and nephew Roger Dangel of LaJolla, California.

Burial will be at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
