Anthony “Tony” Yerry lived with authenticity and kindheartedness that revealed itself within moments of meeting him. Tony was born in Plantation, Florida to his parents George and Debby Yerry. He was a kind and headstrong young child and became a proud big brother to his little sister Ashley. His family relocated to Gig Harbor, Washington in 1998 and were struck with tragedy when Tony’s Dad suddenly passed away. Tony was his father’s son and found the strength to move forward always working hard to become the man his father would be proud of. He continued to live his life with an upbeat positivity, optimism and passion for learning that would form the foundation for the rest of his life. Tony formed special friendships with the kids in his neighborhood and at school, the unique bonds of which have remained steadfast as each of those boys grew into men. Tony earned his Eagle Scout badge at age 17 and his love for the outdoors has never ceased. Tony attended college at the University of Washington where he was elected president of Theta Xi Fraternity and forged a fanatical loyalty to The Purple and Gold, and captured the heart of a girl who would become the love of his life. He went on to attend Law School at Seattle University where he applied himself diligently, graduating summa cum laude, and all the while adding to his wealth of friends. Since passing the bar, Tony has worked as a corporate attorney at the law firm K&L Gates and was a Board member of the King County YLD Bar Association, where his hard work, positivity, and smile elevated the mood of everyone around him. Outside of his professional work he was an avid Seattle Mariners baseball fan, UW Husky football fan, outdoor back packer, skier, photographer and a foodie- always trying new restaurants.

Perhaps the most remarkable trait of Tony was his wonderful ability to endear. Whether you were a dear friend or a casual acquaintance, Tony engaged everyone with a genuine warmth and graciousness that was unmistakably him. His eyes smiled when you spoke to him and you knew he was really listening, you knew he really cared. Tony passed away Saturday afternoon hiking near the summit of Marmot Pass in the Olympic Mountains, leaving us all to wonder at the incredible goodness he left undone. He is survived by his beloved mother Debby Yerry-Eason, step-father Scott Eason, sister Ashley Krom, brother-in-law Nick Krom, stepbrothers Eric Eason and Ryan Eason, his Grandparents George and Angie Yerry, Aunts, Uncles, cousins and his long-time girlfriend and partner, Ana Reyes. Tony had an unforgettable enthusiasm and compassion that resonates within everyone fortunate enough to have known him. Our world is truly poorer without him. Though he is gone, we must live our lives as he would have encouraged us to, always be better.
