Beverly Ann Hartshorn resided in the beautiful South Puget Sound area for nearly 50 years. She passed away peacefully on October 30, 2017 at the age of 73, after losing her battle with cancer. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family, friends and coworkers.

Beverly was born to Ernest and Lola Bradbury on July 19, 1944 in El Centro, California and was raised in Santa Paula, California. On October 1, 1970 she married John Sumner Hartshorn in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they raised three children in Federal Way, Washington. She had recently retired from her loved position in cosmetics at Walgreens and was enjoying cherished experiences with her boyfriend, Barry “Bear” Duran and his family.

Beverly was preceded in death by her youngest son, Mark Steven Hartshorn. She is survived by her son Jeffrey Lee Hartshorn, and her daughter Stephanie Ann Clarke (Joshua Clarke), her only grandson Nathan Clarke, her brothers Dennis Bradbury and and David Bradbury (Charlotte Bradbury).

Beverly loved people. Whether you were someone near and dear to her or a perfect stranger, you felt her same warmth and love. Beverly was extremely inquisitive, always asking questions, loving to learn about people and life. She enjoyed music, singing and dancing, margaritas, shopping, and watching football and baseball. In quiet times Beverly liked to tend to her plants and flowers and appreciated scenic views. Adoring photographs, she was known for always requesting 5x7’s or 8x10’s!

Beverly’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you and sincere appreciation to the health staff at Good Samaritan MultiCare Cancer Center and Hospital. Your kindness and support helped us through a very difficult time.

Inurnment will be scheduled at a later date at Haven of Rest in Gig Harbor, Wa. Beverly was known for being a delightful procrastinator and in keeping with her life long ways, the family would like to celebrate her in true fashion by taking extra time to prepare for her special day. At the time of her service she will be inurned with her late son Marky, whom she cared for with unwavering strength through his life with autism.

Remembrances, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the charities listed below.
