Howard “Bart” Barton Sr, 87, a Gig Harbor resident for 48 years, passed on October 5, 2017.  Bart retired as a Major in the USAF, earned a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Washington and enjoyed a career in Engineering with WPPS, Aerojet, Boeing, Irwin, Kessler and Rockwell.  Bart was an avid fisherman and traveler, and loved spending time with family. He was a member of the McCord AFB Daedalians and the St. Nicholas Church in Gig Harbor.

He is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy (Dot) of 67years; daughter Celia, and sons Howard Jr., and Patrick; 6 grandchildren Mariah, Bryan, Jason, Jenna, Jordan, and Conner; as well as 3 great-grandchildren Kai, Bryce and Bodi.

Viewing will be at Haven of Rest from 8:30 – 10:00 am on Oct 13th, 2017 followed by Funeral Services at Saint Nicholas Church in Gig Harbor from 11am to 12pm followed by Internment at Cromwell Cemetery in Gig Harbor at 1:00 pm.

In Lieu of flowers, please donate in his name to St. Nicholas Church in Gig Harbor.
