James Robert “Bob” Moore Jr., 86, passed away in his sleep at home on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in Gig Harbor, Washington. He was born October 8, 1931 to Ada Gladys Moore and James Robert Moore Sr. in Newark, New Jersey. He was a veteran, a father, a husband, and a devout Christian.
He graduated from Van Nuys high school in in 1949 and graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara in 1959 with a degree in industrial engineering. He married Janice Griffin on September 7, 1958 in Los Angeles and had two children, Gregory Scott and Kimberly Coleen. He later married Elvira Padaoil on February 11, 1983 in Las Vegas and had one son, James Robert III. James enjoyed building model airplanes and boats, reading, hunting, fishing, camping, flying and boating.
He leaves behind his wife, Elvira Moore; his two sons, Gregory Moore of Santa Clarita, California and James Moore III of Gig Harbor, Washington; his daughter Kimberly Ryan of Sacramento, California; his two grandchildren, Camila and Tristan Moore of Santa Clarita, California; and his brother, John Thomas “Tommy” Moore of Los Angeles, California; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in his death by his parents, his grandparents and mother-in-law, Rosalia Padaoil.
A time of gathering will be held on Sunday, July 29th from 2:00 until 4:00 pm at Haven of Rest Funeral Home in Gig Harbor, Washington.
