Jean was born in Pt. Angeles on Feb. 3rd, 1938, and passed away unexpectedly on May 28th, 2018, leaving us much too soon. She is survived by her best friend forever and loving husband of over 60 years, Larry, their four boys Garry, Gordie (Kathi), Glenn (Diana), and David (Cheryl), and ten grandchildren that are cuter than yours.
Her first career was as a full-time mom. Her next career was as a school secretary in the Puyallup School District, until moving to Gig Harbor with Larry in 1992. Jean’s final career was as a medical transcriptionist. For years, she was known as “that lady with the backpack” that could be seen walking all over Gig Harbor on her daily adventures making new friends with everyone she met. She was a great wife, a wonderful mother, and a generous grandma whose cash in the mail will be missed.
As an active member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Gig Harbor, they will be hosting a memorial service on June 23rd at 11:00 a.m., with a reception to follow. Both are open to any and all. Since their cats Dexter and Daphne enjoy eating fresh flowers, feel free to make a donation to the Pierce County Library Foundation in Jean’s memory.
