Joseph Duane Higdon

On August 6, 2018 at age 87 Joseph Dwayne Higdon passed away peacefully in his sleep in Port Orchard Washington. Joe was born March 29, 1931 in Battleground Washington to Wallace and Lulu Higdon. They moved to Port Orchard where he lived and graduated from South Kitsap high school in 1949. He moved to Port Townsend and started working at the Crown Zellerback Paper mill, where he work tirelessly before retiring in 1998 after 46 years. He took two years out to serve in the United States Army as a paratrooper and mechanic during the Korean War. He married Harriet Goerz on September 1, 1956 and raised their three children in Port Townsend. All friends and family are invited to attend his celebration of life at his home on September 22^nd at 1 PM. Remembrances may be made to the wounded warriors. His joy for life, his positive attitude, his never ending strength, and his righteous soul will be dearly missed.
