Born 93 years ago in Dayton, Ohio the granddaughter of a Lutheran minister and daughter of a piano maker, Mom died of natural causes the day after Easter. She was a survivor of childhood polio, and later in life of breast cancer and heart surgery.
In addition to raising her three sons, she was active in her community especially with the Children’s Home Society, Altrusa, the American Field Service Intercultural Programs, and with her church. She loved cooking and politics. Mom and Dad annually funded a full scholarship for a local student to attend South Seattle Community College School of Culinary Arts.
She now joins the love of her life, Fred, her husband of 70 years. She is survived by her three sons Fred (Patti), Robert (Debbie), Steven (Paula), her six grandsons Aaron (Kelsi), Andrew (Sarah), Chris (Kari), Evan (Katie), Ty (Emily), Jeremy, six great grandsons (Landon, Devin, Owen, Austin, Weston, Ian) and three great granddaughters (Olivia, Lillian, Hazel).
Rest in peace Mom. We already miss your hearty laughter.
