Kent Andrew McPherson, age 4 months old, passed away in his Mother’s arms while she was singing “You are My Sunshine”, on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 9:11pm. at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Kent was born on January 9, 2018, in St. Louis MO, to the parents of Cpt. Brad McPherson and Brea (Mattingly) McPherson and is survived by his older brother, Parker. Kent was diagnosed with a type of congenital heart called Double Inlet Left Ventricle, and was a fighter and warrior till the end. He was survived by his paternal grandparents, Shaun and Paul McPherson and maternal grandparents Shellee and Andy Mattingly.
Kent was a very happy baby and loved his mom so much. Any time she would look at him and talk, he would get the biggest smile on his face. He loved snuggling his dad on the couch and helping him cook dinner. Kent was super curious and loved watching Parker play with his toys. Kent loved to talk and watching the world around him. Kent was the sweetest baby any of us have ever known, his smile was contagious, and was loved by all.
He was able to experience adventures such as first snow on his first car ride home from hospital, going to the zoo, going on hikes, dipping his toes in the river, being the cutest model for his favorite photographer, going on a wild animal safari, meeting the Easter bunny, and much more. The four months we got to share with him will be loved and cherished forever.
Funeral services will take place Saturday, May 19, 2018 in Gig Harbor, WA at the Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m., followed by a viewing at Haven of Rest at 1:00 p.m., and a graveside memorial at 2:00 p.m. Flowers are respectfully declined but donations can be made to CHD Organization of your choice in honor of Kent.
