Lois Marie Pruitt

Lois Marie Malone Pruitt passed away on October 31st, 2017 at the age of 89. She was born August 18th, 1928 in Hamilton, Montana to Eddie Couch Malone and Ruth Ida Dunkin. The family moved to Missoula when she was a young child. Lois attended Missoula schools until the family returned to the Bitterroot her senior year. She graduated from Hamilton High School In 1946. She attended Kinman Business University in Spokane. She and her husband, John, lived in Tacoma for many years and raised their family there. They moved to Olalla in the early 70’s. Lois was employed by Tacoma Pierce County Health Dept. for several years, and later by Tacoma School District. She was office coordinator at Fawcett and Wainwright Schools. She was awarded the Golden Acorn by Wainwright PTA. Lois has been a member of Lenni’s exercise class for many years. She is a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church. She was preceded by her parents, and her husband John; sisters, Lillian, Carolyn, Bonnie, and Ruth; brothers, William and infant brother Elvis. She is survived by two sons, John Douglas Pruitt of Livingston, MT. and James Dallas Pruitt of Olalla, WA; two granddaughters, Brenna Ackerson, of Livingston and Kyla Hensen (Cody), of Great Falls, MT; two great grandchildren, Douglas Ackerson and Lily Grace Hensen; and her sister, Myrtle Idland of Sun City West, AZ., many nieces and nephews and cousins. Inurnment has taken place at Haven of Rest.
