I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to the MacLean family. There is such a sense of helplessness when someone we love dies. I'd like to share some scriptural thoughts that really helps me. Prayer is so valuable at this time. It's not that prayer simply makes us feel better but it also helps in another way. This is brought out in the Bible at 2 Corinthians 4:7 where it says that God can give us, "... power beyond what is normal," to go from one day to the next. This does not mean that we no longer cry or that we forget, but it means we recover. The reason we recover is because of our hope. Jesus Christ talked about our hope in John 5:28, "... all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out ". Jesus was referring to the resurrection. This is our amazing hope that helps us recover and gives us power to go on. 2 Corinthians 1:3 describes our Creator as, "... the God of all comfort ". One way that God comforts us is by moving people who care about us to give us words of encouragement that we need to hear. May the God of comfort (Psalms 83:18) be your comfort now during this time of sorrow.

Marie: Thank you so much for your heart-felt responses toward us as her family. Her life from start to finish was in God's hands. It was evident. The "Resurrection of Jesus Christ" from the dead, the world's greatest miracle transforms everything. It is the hope of the believer.

I have had the pleasure of being Nanci's daughter in law for over 20 years. She was a fun loving and loved adventure. We shared the same passion for purple and life. I will miss the time we spent together talking about our "Ron's". She was a big part of my husband's life ( 32 years) and will be missed by her grandchildren and we as her family and friends in San Diego. May she find her peace and reward. God only takes the best!

Nanci and I spent many hours together looking for homes over the years. We shared many laughs, stories and occasionally tears. I feel fortunate to have been able to get to know her. She was an inspiration to those around her to be kind, thoughtful and compassionate. My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time. She will be missed, but her spirit will remain with me.

Thank you Linda for your kind words. My wife thought a lot about you and very appreciative for the help you gave her in selling the home on Pioneer Way. Bless you for the ministry you do through your profession.

May our Lord Jesus Christ minister to your hurting hearts as we send our deepest sympathy with love prayers for peace, hope and, as Nanci related as her favorite, "I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Our love, Runar and Lavina

Dear Runar and Lavina: Thank you for coming to the service. You have remained true friends all these years, seeing the Lord Jesus Christ work through all of life, when it seems clear and when it is messy. The two years I had with Nanci were the best years of my life, knowing that I was loved and in turn could love her back in return without pretension.

Your kindness toward me her spouse spoke volumes, your expeditious handling of our affairs in a world, often overlooking such simple deeds of kindness. It is so heartening to know that God has people like you care and make a real impact in this world. His blessings upon you this day, now and forevermore.

Dear Bill,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My heart breaks of this news. I wish I could have met her in person but I felt the essence of who she was and what she embodied during the many conversations we had on the phone. May she find peace in heaven. She was loved here on earth.

Sending my blessings and love,

Clayton from Rocky Mountaineer

My dear friend Clayton, I remember with fondness Nanci's excitement about going again on the Gold leaf trip and how enthusiastic she was describing for me with vivid imagery, which convinced me to go. While we weren't able to go two times, she is walking those "streets of gold" continuing with the peace that God gave her, when she became a Christian and which sustained her through struggle with Cancer. We both were honored to know you and maybe one day, my dear friend we will meet in Vancouver for a meal and reminisce about your mutual friend and my wife. God's blessing upon you my friend...stay in touch.

Judy: Nanci never played favorites and was quite outgoing to all. Her gentle spirit, generosity and kind heart, I trust, will not be forgotten by those who have been the recipient of her "Love of God" and His love through her.

Although I recently met Nanci, she definitely left a loving impression on me. She so embodied being kind and loving that in the instant you meet her, you knew she stood for kindness and love. My heart grieves for your loss, Bill.

Thank you so much, Bill, for this beautiful tribute to Nanci. I sang in the choir with her for many years and so enjoyed her bubbly personality and admired her deep faith. She will be deeply missed, but I am so glad that her suffering is over and she is resting comfortably in the arms of God. May the Lord comfort you and give you His peace in the days ahead.

Nancy was my sister-in-law and a caring and compassionate friend. Without a doubt my brother found a committed soul mate and a beautiful wife in her. She was full of life and focused on the positive. I liked her classiness, spunkiness, and hearty sense of humor...she loved to laugh. Her life speaks to us all to appreciate and cling to God's goodness in our lives, that each day is a blessing, and to invest our life in others.

Thanks for your life and testimony Nancy and we'll see you again soon!
Love Chris
