Pearl Marie Alspach, age 90, passed from this life into eternity on July 9, 2019 in Gig Harbor, WA. Pearl was born in Rolette County, North Dakota on November 17, 1928 to Walter and Louise Lassonde. The eldest of 3 daughters, Pearl was preceded in death by her younger sisters Joyce Carl and Louise Halvorsen. After moving to Seattle at the age of 14, she graduated from West Seattle High School in 1945 and married her first husband, David Harris, in 1946. She worked for Boeing until she married Richard Alspach in 1957 settling first in West Seattle and then Des Moines. Moving to Renton in 1966, she devoted herself to being an enthusiastic homemaker and loved hosting frequent, large family gatherings. Following Richard’s death in 1984, Pearl relocated to Federal Way in 1985. There she became involved in politics and served as a district chairwoman for the Republican Party. In 1992 she pulled up stakes once again moving to McCormick Woods in Port Orchard where she loved taking long walks with her grandchildren and beloved dogs, Chico and Tawny. She attended Covenant Fellowship and Christ the Rock Community Church for many years until finally moving to Gig Harbor in 2015 where she resided until her death.
Matriarch to her large family, she is remembered lovingly by her children Linda (Harris) Elkins (Steve), Cathleen (Harris) (Stewart) Jones (Tom), David Harris (Erin), Jean (Alspach) Olsson (John), and Richard Alspach (Lael). Her legacy lives on in her 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on August 11th at 2:00pm at Haven of Rest Funeral Home, 8503 State Hwy 16, Gig Harbor, WA.
