Ruth Fay McIntyre, age 93 of Gig Harbor, was received into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, April 21, 2018. She is now with other sisters and brothers, a total of 8 including her, and also with her dear Father and Mother whom she loved greatly.
This great family began in Boone Iowa and the 8 children were born into the care of Glenn and Bessie Ross. Ruth and her twin, Rue Ceil have shared numerous endearing stories of their growing up in that big, warm, and loving family.
Ruth met her husband Willis in High School and they were married as soon as she graduated. He then joined the Navy for 3 years during world war two. After getting out of the navy, they had three boys Richard, Billy, and Doug. Willis became a High School teacher in Iowa. In 1958 they moved to Tacoma, and then Gig Harbor, Where Ruth’s husband, Will McIntyre, became a beloved High School teacher and coach at Peninsula High School. Ruth had the important job of homemaker. But when the boys were grown, Willis bought the Roto Rooter business in Tacoma and Ruth worked with him in the office. She had a full life, and managed to host many people in her home from other countries, because she was also a part-time missionary.
She is survived by her sons Bill and Doug, and Grandchildren, Caitlin and Jason McIntyre. There will be a memorial service on Thursday April 26, 2018 in Gig Harbor at Haven of Rest funeral home with a reception following the Service. We want to celebrate the wonderful Life of Ruth McIntyre, who passed away at 93 and now is with her savior.
