Stephen Ray

Gig Harbor resident Stephen Lamar Ray passed away peacefully October 15th.  Beloved son, husband, brother, uncle, friend and teacher, Steph lived a colorful life full of travel, music, teaching, fishing, telling jokes and rooting for his Seahawks! 

Steph was loved and will be missed by his family and friends as well as many former students and colleagues. He taught in the public schools of Redding, CA for many years before moving to the Northwest where he continued his career in both public and private education.

Stephen was preceded in death by his beloved wives Veeda Marchetti Ray of Gig Harbor and Kay Peery Ray of Redding CA. as well as his parents Hubert and Virginia Ray. There will be a Celebration of Stephen’s life next spring that will be announced on this website and on his Facebook page.
