Susan Amon Jacoby

Susan Amon Jacoby passed away on Thursday, December 26th in Gig Harbor, WA. She was born in 1929 in Lakewood, Ohio, where she spent her childhood.

Susan was a devoted and loving wife and dear mother of seven children. Music was a significant part of her life and she shared her gift as an accomplished pianist throughout her life. Susan passed her love of music to her children and grandchildren.

Susan had a positive outlook on life, an infectious laugh, and a delightful sense of humor. She was deeply loved and will be remembered fondly by all those who knew her.

Susan is survived by her children Catherine Ann Jacoby, Mary Elizabeth Jacoby, Ellen Margaret Jacoby, Susan Carol Jacoby, Jean Marie Jacoby (Richard McCurdy), Matthew John Jacoby, Michael George Jacoby (Lisa Paraker); grandchildren Jeanne Van Patten-Steiger, Sarah Neubauer, Susan Gomez, Christopher McCurdy, Brian Jacoby-McCurdy, Shelby Jacoby, Kate Jacoby, and Christopher Jacoby; and great-grandchildren Matteo and Niko Gomez and Rose Neubauer.

She is predeceased by her husband of 54 years, George Charles Jacoby, as well as her parents Eugene and Helen Vada Amon and her siblings Jean Drolet, Ann Williams, and Thomas Amon.

A Liturgy of the Word for Susan will be held Friday January 10 at 12:10 PM at St. Leo Church, 710 S. 13^th ST, Tacoma, WA, 98405. A reception with light refreshment will immediately follow the service.
