Terrance Raymond Moore

Born in Tacoma, Washington January 28, 1955 to Walter Newell Moore and Evelyn Mae Wilson. He was the youngest of four. Terry grew up in Tacoma’s North End and attended Sherman Elementary, Mason Junior High and Stadium High schools.

He spent many fun filled summers at the family beach house in White Rock, BC Canada. Collecting firewood from the beach, fishing from the White Rock Pier, building sandcastles or eating fish and chips on the beach, there was always some kind of adventure to have!

Terry went up to Fort Nelson, BC, Canada with his brothers Derek and Wayne. He helped build a motel for his brother Derek and was a volunteer firefighter with his brother, Wayne. Anyone knowing Terry, knew that being outdoors… camping and fishing… were his passions! He really loved the wilderness! He loved living that lifestyle and he also loved watching anything ‘cowboy’.

In his early 30’s Terry realized he wanted a profession and began taking classes at the local Community Colleges with his brother, Wayne, to earn their prerequisites before applying to Palmer College of Chiropractic. Being accepted to that college and moving to the Midwest was an exciting adventure in itself.

Living in Davenport, Iowa while achieving his chiropractic degree along with his two brothers, Derek and Wayne, Terry met many friends who shared his interests of hunting and fishing.

Graduation day for the three brothers was a very big deal! It was announced at their graduation it was the first time in Palmer College of Chiropractic history that three brothers graduated as Doctors of Chiropractic on the same day; October 1, 1982.

Shortly after getting their license and while practicing, Terry and his brother Wayne completed and extensive three year course of Chiropractic Orthopedics. They were two of only 10 doctors that completed the course out of a few hundred that started with them.

After graduation, Terry moved back to his hometown of Tacoma, where he married Laurie in 1988 and together lovingly raised Christopher, Heather and David.

Dr. Terry ran a successful chiropractic practice for over 25 years before he had another life change. In 2008, he pulled up stakes and moved to Perth, Australia with his older brother Derek. That’s where his Australia adventure began. He worked with his brother for about a year, spent time with his nieces and nephews and their children all the time carrying out his passion for hunting and fishing. Terry subsequently purchased a practice in Tasmania, Australia. He had a great life there building his new practice and enjoying many close friendships.

Terry returned home to Washington in June 2016. He lived with his brother, Wayne and family. He was planning on and outfitted himself for his ultimate fishing/camping trip. He wanted to make another trip to Montana where he made many enjoyable memories.

Although Terry didn’t belong to any particular church, he was very Christian and had read through his bible at least three times through… He knew without a doubt where he would spend eternity.

Terry died on Thursday, May 11, 2017. He was predeceased by his sister, Sharon Ann and his father. He is survived by his mother, brothers Derek and Wayne along with many family members and friends who will miss his smile and sense of humor. Cheers, Terry! Until we meet again…

As he wished, there will be a celebration of his life at a later date this summer.
