Vince Joseph Wilk

Vincent Joseph Wilk, 69 years old, of Gig Harbor, WA, passed away on June 28, 2017.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 7th at St. Nicholas in Gig Harbor.  Arrangements are being handled by Haven of Rest.

Vince was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 15, 1948. He graduated from the University of Detroit with his Bachelor’s degree and received his MBA from University of Nebraska at Omaha.  Vince served in the Air Force from 1969 – 1974 at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska.

During his military service in Omaha, Vince met Joanne Pavlovich whom he wed on July 20, 1973.  Vince and Joanne have been married for 43 years, have 2 daughters and 4 grandsons.

Vince worked in many capacities for United Airlines from station manager to district sales manager which allowed him to reside all over the country while raising his family.  The Wilks called Nebraska, Michigan, Colorado, California, Texas and Washington home over the 33 years he worked for United Airlines.  After his retirement from United, he worked for the State of Washington for 11 years.   Vince was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Rotary and RUERA.

Vince is survived by wife, Joanne; daughters Jacque and Michelle; son-in-law Bill Haughney; grandsons Cooper and Mason Gurney, Shaun and Andrew Haughney.  Vince is also survived by Wilk brothers Gerry (Julie), Tim and Ken; Pavlovich brother-in-laws Jim (Connie), Chuck (Darlene), Dan (Denise), John (Tina) and his mother-in-law Ann Pavlovich.

Vince is preceded in death by his father, Vincent, and his mom, Genevieve from Dearborn, Michigan.
