Alden “Al” Rae Eaton, 63, a Gig Harbor resident since 1982, was born at St. Joseph Hospital April 29, 1959, and passed away May 13, 2022. Al was a retired general contractor and owner of Eaton Drywall; Sunset Grill restaurant owner, developer, and operator; and an avid motorcycle, boating, and fishing enthusiast. In his endeavors, he was often known for his attention to details, craftsmanship, and geniality. He was also inventor of Rekluse E-axle; developer of dirt biking trails, bike trailer modifications, pontoon boat, and TMC properties and events; conscientious; hard-working; integrity-driven; self-educator; bible-knower; outdoor enthusiast; family provider, protector, mechanic, home builder, and grill master; recipe creator; playlist curator; Tacoma Motorcycle Club member; beloved father; and friend to many. He was our real-life superman, explorer, adventure-buddy, and teddy bear.
He is survived by daughters, Jacqueline and Gina Eaton; ex-wife, Cara Eaton; partner, Elizabeth Remick; sister, Vikki Safar; and brothers, Tim Safar, Kerry Eaton, and Donald Lemoine.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 21, at Haven of Rest Chapel and Cemetery, Gig Harbor. Remembrances may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. Arrangements by Haven of Rest, Gig Harbor.
