Clifford Lorin Head, age 78, a 53-year resident of Port Orchard WA, passed away December 17, 2020. Cliff was born April 23, 1942 in Tacoma WA to parents Glen and Charlotte, raised in Washington, attended high school in Grandview WA, and joined the Army at the age of 17. While serving near Vacaville CA he met and four months later married Carol Cope. The two eventually settled near Port Orchard, where they raised their three children. Cliff worked over thirty years at U.S. Naval facilities PSNS and Bangor, before retiring in 1997. As a widower he married Susana Nunez in 1999, and they were together for ten years, until she returned to her native country Argentina. Whether camping, traveling, or just playing cards, Cliff loved spending time with family and friends. Later, the game of cribbage became one of his biggest interests. As the husband of a women taken by cancer, as well as a cancer survivor himself, he helped to raise awareness and funding for the American Cancer Society by participating in their Relay for Life events. Cliff was proceeded in death by his father Glen Head, mother Charlotte Meeks, wife Carol, and brother Steven Lindberry. He is survived by brothers Glen (Bonnie) Head, Robert ‘Bob’ (Darlene) Head, Carl Lindberry, sister Arlene (Chuck) Howard, and several step siblings. He is also survived by his son David (Cheryl) Head, daughter Shellie (Frank) Pitts, and son Samuel (Nicole) Head, as well as his 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandsons.
Due to COVID pandemic restrictions, there will be no formal burial service. Donations may be sent in his honor to the American Cancer Society.
