Daniel Roy Denney (Dan) 45 of Gig Harbor, WA passed away due to a heart attack on Tuesday September 15, 2020… far too soon. Dan was an electrician in Shop 99 at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton for 12 years.
When Dan wasn’t working hard to provide for his wife and children you could find him enjoying the outdoors and spending quality time with his friends and family. Some of Dan’s favorite things to do were camping, hiking, fishing, tinkering in his shed, cooking for church events, and helping anyone he could at church, work, home, or on the side of the road.
Dan was hands down the most generous person you had ever met. His warm welcoming spirit just radiated when he would walk into the room. Quiet and calm always, but at a moment’s notice he was ready to give 100% of himself without hesitation to help someone that was in need. If you knew Dan in any capacity, you know this to be true. They just don’t make ‘em like Dan anymore…
He will be missed every day moving forward, and though he may no longer be with us here on Earth, we will take heart that Dan knew the love of Jesus from a very young age and is now at peace in Heaven with his mother Dixie Denney, uncle Paul and aunt Carolyn Morris, grandparents Howard and Edith Grabast, and grandparents Roy and Edna Denney.
Dan leaves behind his wife of 12 years, Alicia Denney; 3 daughters, Lizzy, Graciana (Grace), and Patience; father, Melvin Denney; sister, Joanna and Mario Lark (brother-in-law of 20 years); niece and nephews Laney, Anthony, and Harley Lark; along with countless acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 25, 2020 at Haven of Rest Viewing 12pm -2pm with graveside service at 2pm-3pm. Reception to follow at the Denney’s Home. Open house style 4pm-8pm. Any contributions of support can be made to Alicia Denney.
