Darlene Mead Obituary

Darlene Ivetta Mead 89, passed peacefully in University Place Washington on March 26, 2022. She was born in Tacoma April 13th 1932 to Walter and Ivetta Butterfield. The family later moved to Seattle, where Darlene graduated from Ballard High School and started work with Safeco Insurance company. Darlene’s brother Walt introduced her to Kenneth Mead which she married in 1953. Her family grew with the birth of Rick, David and later Cindy and the family moved to Tacoma. Darlene stayed at home to raise her children, she loved to garden, cook, bake and connect with life long friends. She loved animals and always had a devoted dog or cat by her side. Darlene was loved by her family and friends and will be deeply missed. Mom was beautiful inside and out.

Darlene is survived by son David (Lorie), daughter Cindy (Dave), Granddaughter Amanda (Matt) Great-Granddaughters Maisey and Mila. She is proceeded by death by her husband Kenneth, son Rick and brother Walt
