Edward Rodriguez Jr. Obituary

Edward Joseph Rodriguez Jr. beloved Husband, Dad, and Papa, left us on January 21, 2023. He is preceded in death by his mother Dolores in 2001 and his father Edward Sr. in 2010.

Born on January 9, 1949 in Lompoc, California, he spent his childhood days playing football and hunting in Santa Barbara, CA. He was the quarterback of the football team at San Marcos High School and graduated in 1968.

After high school, Ed joined the Marine Corps with his best friend. Ed was a proud Vietnam Veteran. After his time in the service, Ed owned and operated Ed’s Service Center, a Mobile Oil service station in Santa Barbara, CA.

Ed met his wife Linda in 1970 and they were married on March 30, 1974. They moved to Gig Harbor, Washington in 1977, where they raised their 3 children and loved the community and the numerous friends they made.

He enjoyed his career as a Sales Rep at National Distributing (Anheuser Busch) in Tacoma and retired in 2005. He also worked as an associate at the Gig Harbor Home Depot. Ed found his true passion working for Gig Harbor High School as the Sporting Event Manager.

He remained active throughout his adult life, enjoying hunting pheasant and mule deer, fishing, and camping. Ed and Linda loved their time together traveling with their 5th wheel spending time with friends and family. Ed was a Mariners fan and always had the game on. His most cherished times were spent with his family who he deeply loved and was always there rooting them on.

He is survived by his wife Linda, of 48 years, children, Paul Sr, Andrea (Mark) and Leslie. Grandchildren Paul Jr, Emilia, and Patrick. His siblings Linda, Donnie and Frank. And his beloved dogs, Ruby and Duke. He was loved by many communities including the Sportsman’s club, Gig Harbor High School and other military veterans.
