Elizabeth A. Minert, 72, a Gig Harbor resident since 2017 and, formerly, a long-time resident of Brighton, MI, died July 16, 2022. Beth was passionate about education, teaching 3rd grade and kindergarten in the Brighton Area School district for more than 32 years. After retiring as a teacher, she continued to serve the schools through two terms as a member of the Brighton Board of Education. Her work as an educator persisted throughout her life and she had a positive impact on countless lives of children and their parents. Beth was a long-time volunteer and member of the First Presbyterian Church of Brighton and served the community as a volunteer with the Gleaners Community Food Bank. Beth was also an avid reader, loved to travel, visiting all 50 states plus 14 countries, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Beth is survived by her husband, Daniel Minert, daughters Hilary Sakita and Lauren Schwimmer, and 3 grandchildren.
