On Sept 15 , 2021, Gail Ann Alvord passed away in Spokane, WA from complications of Scleroderma. Born September 27, 1950 in Tacoma, WA, the second of five children to Earl and Betty Jorgenson, she spent her early years in University Place and Gig Harbor, often spending time in Tacoma with grandparents, John and Viola Jorgenson. She was active in 4-H and loved riding her horse, Spirit. Along with her family, she moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1966 but was elated to return to Tacoma a few years later, graduating from Penninsula High School in 1969. She remained in her beloved hometown until moving to Spokane in 2018 to be closer to her sister. Gail spent the majority of her career as a courier, retiring due to declining health in 2010. Creative and artistic, Gail specialized in beautiful, custom silk flower arrangements. She was a voracious reader, lover of all things vintage and should have been on “Name that Tune”. Gail was empathetic, clever, kind, courageous in adversity and cherished by all who knew her. Grieving her loss are brothers John Jorgenson of Puerta Vallarta, Mexico and Lee Jorgenson (Sheila) of Yelm, WA, sister Lyn Spangler (Craig) of Post Falls, ID, nephew Ryan Vaughn and wife Kelly of Chandler, AZ and their children Nathan and Taryn. She was pre-deceased by sister Jackie Jorgenson and several beloved cats. The family is grateful to the dedicated nurses at Deaconess Hospital PICU and the staff and residents of Maplewood Gardens who helped Gail feel at home in Spokane.
