Harold (Harry) Floyd Pendell, age 76, a resident of Gig Harbor for 41 years, quietly passed away after a long battle with non-Hodgkins lymphoma on October 14, 2020. He was born March 17, 1944 in Cheney WA to Beatrice (White) and Harold Ben Pendell. He attended school in Cheney and graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of WA. In 2001 he earned his Professional Engineering license from the State of Washington.
Harold worked for Boeing in Seattle, Dakota Aircraft in Yakima WA, and Esco Corp in Portland OR. He then went into business in 1980 in Seattle with a friend doing Forensic Engineering. He continued this work in his own business Penco Engineering Inc. in Gig Harbor until he retired in 1999.
He met and married his wife Carol (Huppert) in Seattle WA in 1974. They had two children Amy Bartlett (Jarrod) Gig Harbor WA, and Kathryn Stent (Paul) Renton WA, and one other daughter Kimberly Wolfe Tacoma WA.
He is survived by his wife Carol of Gig Harbor, three children, six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two sisters.
Harold loved to cook. His BBQ ribs were the best. He loved to entertain the family children with his famous handshake and lots of witty jokes. He was an avid sportsman, tinker, woodworker, and collector of many things.
Per his request there will be no services. Interment will be at Haven of Rest Cemetery, Gig Harbor, WA.
