Irmgard Emma McKinstry, (born Gassner 5/2/29) passed away in her home in Gig Harbor, WA on November 25, 2020. Her beloved cockapoo, Schatzi, was by her side.
Known as Irmi, she came to WA State in 1953 from her birthplace of Cologne, W. Germany with her two daughters, Inge (Mrs. Warren) Geri of Gig Harbor, and Dorothy (Mrs. William “Bill”) White of Sequim, WA. Irmi worked all her life in photography. She was employed in downtown Seattle at Olympic Camera, then towards retirement years at Omega Camera in Bellevue. She spent her final years in Gig Harbor following the death of her husband, Jack McKinstry, retired from United Airlines. People always loved her beautiful flowers & she was a strong German lady. And photogenic!
The family wishes to thank all those who have helped & befriended our mother in her final years. No services at this time due to COVID restrictions. Cremation will be at Haven of Rest in Gig Harbor & internment at Tahoma National Veteran’s Cemetery.
