James P. Maze passed away October 24th, 2021 at the age of 74. Jim was born to Jim and Betty Maze on December 6, 1946, the 1st of 4 children, in Tacoma. As a Veteran, Jim served four years with the US Army. After completing his service time, he worked many jobs: Parkland Light and Water Company, Franklin Pierce School District/grounds keeper, Tacoma Smelter, mushroom picker for restaurants and brush spray picking for nurseries.
Jim was a self-taught craftsman. He made jewelry, pottery, wrote poetry, constructed bulkheads, wooden furniture, fish poles and tools. Jim loved hunting, fishing, camping, the mountains, and rivers. He truly loved nature and the outdoors.
His Brother John Maze, two sisters Jean Schramm and Joan Welter, survive Jim. Nephews; Sean Schramm, Edward Welter, Seth Schramm and Nieces Bonnie Schramm, Bridget Schramm, and Grand nephews, Oliver and Miles Schramm, also survive him. At the request of the family there will be no service, but a wake will be held on Sunday 11-7-2021 at 3209 Gay Road East, Tacoma, Wa starting at 1:30pm. For questions call (253) 278-9885.
