Joan Dolores Earl

Joan Dolores (O'Brien) Earl passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at age 91 with family at her side.  Joan was a reader, registered nurse, wife, mother, artist, yoga practitioner and life long student.

Joan, also known as Orne or Ormi, was born on April 28, 1926 in Congress Park, Illinois.  She lived in Illinois until moving with her husband and three youngest children to Washington State. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Thomas O'Brien and Mary Cecilia (Hennessy) O'Brien; by her siblings Jack, Robert, Rosemary, James, and Alfred; by her husband Robert Gregory Earl; and by her son, John Thomas Earl. 

Joan is survived by her children Kathleen, Mary, Patricia, Joan, Robert (Dawn), Daniel, James, Ellen (John Collins), Edward (Wendi); by her daughter-in-law Kathy (John); as well as by her grandchildren Ashley, Gregory (Allison), Alex (Mary), Michael, Riley, Evan, Ean, Ethan; by her step grandsons Gregory and Christopher Vanden Bos; as well as by great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Inurnment will be on Friday, May 18th, at 11 AM at Haven of Rest in Gig Harbor, Washington.  A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, July 1st, at 11 AM in the Garden Room at Brookdale Assisted Living, 3213 45th Street Court NW, Gig Harbor, Washington.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Joan's memory be made to SEE International (Surgical Eye Expeditions International) or to the charity of your choice.
