Johnnie L. “Jack” Jones, a resident of Auburn, WA, was born in Port Townsend, WA on May 7, 1938 and passed on March 9, 2021. Jack served his country for 8 years in the USAF obtaining the rank of Airman 1st Class and then transitioned to the transportation industry with Greyhound where he retired after 30 years of service as a bus driver. He was a favorite and highly requested tour guide, the family glue, historian and life of the party amongst family and friends. Jack was known for maintaining a weekly routine and enjoyed the finer things in life, always researching the latest technology for automobiles, video and audio components, etc., and when asked how his day was going, would often relay that he had taken a trip to San Francisco, Paris or some other metropolitan area. Of course, this was all while sitting comfortably at his expansive home flight simulator. Of note, no air traffic violations were committed…officially!
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Rodney Marcus and Sylvia Eugenia (Smith) Jones; brothers Rodney Wallace Jones and Douglas Lee Jones; nephew Richard Douglas Jones and Edna Hope Fisher, his life-long companion. He is survived by nephews Marcus (Jan) Jones of Spokane, WA; Stanley (Shelia) Jones of Chipley, FL; KC Robert Jones of Seabeck, WA; niece Eugenia M. Jones of Shelton, WA; cousins Christie McDonald of Tacoma, WA; Ricky (Shelia) Kelly of Foley, AL; Cindy Mendenhall of Auburn, WA; Tina Auge’ of Yakima, WA; Frank (Lisa) Jones, Lois Jones, Jennifer (Terry) Nobel, Marilyn (Denny) Ebner, Annette (Kirk) Jolma of Oregon; great nieces and nephews Nathan, Michelle, Sara, Justin, Chad, Jessica, Reece, Kelly, Crystal, Amber, KC Jr., and subsequent generations of beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
