Joyce Louise (Skellenger) Miller

Joyce was born in Menomonie, Wisconsin on June 28, 1934 and passed away August 13, 2020. She lived her life like a warrior for God. She raised her children to always put God first. Joyce was a loving wife to Stewart Avery Miller for 50 beautiful years and a beautiful Mother for their 8 children. Joyce lived a full and wonderful life in Seattle, Washington as well as in Rural Retreat, Virginia. She was surrounded by her children and grandchildren all of her life. Joyce was a grandmother as well as a teacher. Summer Bible Camp on their front porch with their grandchildren was a must for Joyce and Stewart. Family was always the most important thing. Rural Retreat, Virginia was always Joyce’s home in spirit. 

Joyce is survived by her son Brad (Nancy), son Richard  (Christine), daughter Andrea, daughter Beren’ (Michael), daughter Rebecca, and daughter Jennifer. She is also survived by abundant and precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

She was a true woman of God. His Love radiated through her, giving her a beauty that never faded. Her deeply caring heart, and her love for God, gave her a genuine concern for the souls of others. She was a loving mother, a kind caregiver and generous to a fault. She went home to be with the Lord she served and loved so dearly. Now safe in the arms of Jesus she is reunited with her loving husband Avery and the loved ones that went before her. Her love is carried in the hearts of her children and grand children, her memory will never fade. Those who knew her, knew it was a privilege to be her friend.
