Kristopher Paul Olson
1946-2019
Kristopher Paul Olson was born to Clarence J. Olson and Agnes Olson on October 19, 1946. He passed away the morning of October 29, 2019 with his family at his bedside.
He leaves behind his wife of 53 years Marie E. Olson, daughters Kristine Marie Spencer (Hernandez) and Karen Kay Vicente, grandchildren Zachary, Katrina, Grace, Aidan and great grandson Travis. He was preceded in death by his son Robert Paul Olson.
Shortly after his graduation from R.A. Long High School in Longview, WA he was employed by Weyerhaeuser. Kris entered the U.S. Marine Corp in 1966 and received a Purple Heart for his actions in the Vietnam War. Kris returned to Weyerhaeuser for a short time until his qualifications earned him a recommendation to American Plywood Association. Kris continued his employment with APA with many promotions that led to the position of Lab Manager, until his retirement. Kris enjoyed hunting, fishing, trips to the casino, and time spent with family and friends.
Kris requested no formal services so please join us for a casual gathering of family and friends on January 4th, 2020 any time between 3pm-7pm for food, cocktails and the sharing of memories. Kris' cocktail of vodka and cranberry will be provided. Other beverages will be provided at the no-host bar. Event to be held at The Inn at Gig Harbor-3211 56th St. NW, Gig Harbor, WA 98335. The family has reserved a block of rooms for anyone wishing to stay over. Please refer to the party when requesting a room for a discounted rate at (253)858-1111.
