Marilyn Ruth Lawrence, 83, passed away on September 5, 2020. She was born in Lansing, Iowa on November 15, 1936 to Harold and Ruth Bartheld. She is loved and will be missed every day by the family and friends she left behind.
Marilyn attended Moxee High School and graduated in 1954 where she was a judge on the student court, class secretary, and editor of the “Moxee” a student newspaper. She also participated in band and choir.
She began her love for people by being a nurse and helping with food services at a hospital in Yakima, while the boys were in school, she contributed to the family by being an Avon rep where she could meet new people in the community. After retirement Jim and Marilyn decided to travel the country and participated in local art shows where Marilyn would sell hand painted wooden ducks and other birds such as loons and hand-crafted knitted items.
She was best known for her kind loving heart, gentle spirit, generosity, firm belief in God and love for life.
Her favorite past times/hobbies were tole painting, knitting, sewing, baking, and flower gardening. She was an avid participant in the church choir with her favorite performance being the Christmas program. She also was the choir’s seamstress repairing many of their robes.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, James F. Lawrence; parents Harold and Ruth Bartheld, and Brother James Bartheld
Survived by sons David Lawrence of Port Orchard and Denny Lawrence of Aberdeen; Daughter in Law Paula Lawrence, nephews Rick Bartheld, and Mike Bartheld and niece Carrie Wane of Yakima WA; grandchildren Hannah Lawrence, Kevin Lawrence, Eric Lawrence, and Jason Lawrence, and 9 great grandchildren.
