On Friday, October 23, 2020, Marjorie Olmsted, loving wife of Bob and mother of three children, peacefully passed away at the age of 92. Marge was born on November 20, 1927 in Buffalo, New York to Howard and Geraldine Kizer. It was in LeRoy, NY, where Marge met and eventually married Bob (Robert) Olmsted on September 9, 1950. Along with their three children, David, Carol and Susan, they left western New York State to begin Bob’s ministry with the Presbyterian church. After being ordained in Chicago, IL, his career took them to Oregon, California and then to Washington State, where they lived for over 35 years, finally settling in Gig Harbor.
Marge will be remembered lovingly by her sweet disposition and huge smile by all those who came in contact with her. She was devoted to her family, enthusiastically supported Bob’s career in the church, loved to bake and was an avid quilter.
Marge was preceded in death by husband Bob, parents Howard and Geraldine, and brother Paul. She is survived by her brother Ken Kizer, sister-in-law Ann LeVasseur, her children David, Carol Oyama (Ed), and Susan Peters (Pete), 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
The family will gather to celebrate her life at a later date where Marge and Bob will be laid to rest in the Machpelah Cemetery in LeRoy, New York.
