Mark Alvin Anderson Sr lost his battle with Alzheimer’s disease on January 23, 2020, at the age of 57. The only child born to Alvin and Phyllis (Peggy Scott), June 6, 1962, in Shelton, WA. His parents owned and operated a logging business on Harstine Island. At the age of 12, the family relocated to Oahu, Hawaii. Mark attended Punahou School in Honolulu and continued his education at the University of Puget Sound, Tacoma, Washington, where he studied Art and Religion.
Mark married Elizabeth Cox, September 14, 1991. They made their home in West Seattle, WA and welcomed their first child, Alexandra Marguerite (Allie). The family soon moved to Gig Harbor, Washington, where their son, Mark Alvin Jr (MJ) was born.
Through the years Mark and his mother continued to develop family owned property on Harstine Island. At this time, he also worked in local real estate.
Above all, Mark loved golf. He spent many hours playing the game at Canterwood Golf and Country Club. He also enjoyed the weekly poker games that often followed a round of golf.
In lieu of flowers we ask you to consider a donation to the Alzheimer Association.
If you so desire, please bring a golf ball with your name or initials on the ball. We encourage you to wear golfing or Hawaiian attire.
In order to keep all of our family and friends safe and healthy, Mark's Celebration of Life will be rescheduled at a later date.
