Marvel LaVern Ball

January 26, 1923 – July 5, 2022

Marvel (LaVern) Ball passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday July 5th, 2022 at age 99 1/2. Born in Murray, Utah she was the first of 5 children to her parents Silas and Marvel Smith (brothers: Arvil, Lorin and Calvin, and sister: LaFae). LaVern married Earl Wesley Ball Jr on December 6, 1941 (day before Pearl Harbor!) and had two sons, James (Wendy) and Roger (Renee).

LaVern is survived by her son Roger, five grandchildren (Julie (Jeff), Kevin, Danielle (Bob), Michael (Vanessa) and Michelle (Adam)) and six great-grandchildren (Ian, Dylan, Sophia, Nico, Daphne and Penny).  Although not all her family lived close, she loved them all very much and bragged about them often to everyone. She always cherished family gatherings, especially birthdays and holidays.

Everyone called her GRAM. She was a very strong and determined person but also an extremely kind and caring person who always put others before herself.  Gram never said anything negative about anyone and always looked on the positive side of life. She loved baseball and was a devoted Mariners fan, attending many Mariners games over the years.

Gram will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. WE LOVE YOU GRAM!
