Meredith Liesmann Obituary

Sadly, we lost Meredith Liesmann on Feb 6th, 2024. He was a loved husband, father, grandfather/great-grandfather, brother, and great friend to many people.

Meredith was born in Bremerton, WA in Nov of 1941. He graduated from East Bremerton High School in 1960 and then continued his education at University of Washington where in 1965 he graduated with a mechanical engineering degree. He then married Darlene (nee Hamilton) a week later in Bremerton. And then to top off a whirlwind three weeks, he started at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard a week later in Refueling. A few years later, he moved onto Nuclear Power at PSNS where he remained till, he retired with 30+ years’ service. And since he was a mad golfer (started during his college years) then went to work at Gold Mountain Golf Course in Bremerton for another 15 years where he was a starter, marshal, and moved a lot of golf buggies around. Meredith played golf all the way up to a couple of months before his passing. Golf wasn’t his only sporting passion. Meredith loved all sports but played basketball at the YMCA in Bremerton at lunch time for over 20 years. The other passion of Meredith’s through the years was his dedication to the Boy Scouts. He supported Lance to get involved and he did for a few years, but then Meredith carried on with Scouts long after Lance quit. He supported a local troop and used to perform quartermaster duties by the amount of camping equipment he kept at the house.

After marrying Darlene, they settled in Port Orchard and 3 yrs later, they had a son, Lance, in 1968. At that time, Meredith was building his family home on Baby Doll Rd that they moved into shortly after Lance was born. He continued to finish that family home when they welcomed their daughter, Jennifer, in 1972. They were still in that family home when Meredith passed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert & Clara Liesmann. He is survived by his wife, Darlene, son, Lance, & daughter, Jennifer (Liesmann) Rose. He is also survived by his sister, Lisa (nee Liesmann) Henderson, as well as 3 grandchildren & 1 great-grandchild.

Memorial Service to be held at Christ The Rock Church (4100 Old Clifton Rd, Port Orchard) Feb 23rd, at 1pm.
