Norm passed away peacefully in Tacoma, WA, April 13, 2023, two days after his 79th birthday. His wife of 46 years, Mary Ann, preceded him in passing in 2015. They lived in Federal Way and Gig Harbor since 1990.
Norm was born in Bingham Canyon, Utah, on April 11, 1944, to Joseph Albert and Mayme Gonzales. He was proud to have boxed for the legendary Marv Jenson as a youth. Norm served in the US Army from ’65-‘71. He married the love of his life by eloping to Vegas in ’68. His two daughters brought him much to be proud of. He was successful and well-liked at his job in sales. His hobbies included traveling, scuba diving, reading, and golfing. Family and friends have many fond memories of his playful, fun-loving, humorous side. Norm is remembered warmly for being caring, generous, and inquisitive.
He is survived by his siblings Eloise (Brimhall), Velma (Sunberg), Gino, Glen, and Clyde; his daughters Heather (Paez) and Tiffany; his grandchildren Marlena, Thomas, Drew and Rose Dougherty; and many beloved nephews, nieces, and life-long friends.
Graveside service with military honors will be held at Haven of Rest in Gig Harbor, WA, April 25, 2023, at 4:00 pm. Celebration of Life will be held in SLC, UT, at Sugarhouse Park, July 8, 2023, 1:00 pm.
