Patricia Jean (Peternell) Jerkovich

Patricia Jean Jerkovich (née Peternell), 90, of Gig Harbor, was welcomed into the arms of the angels on January 6, 2023. Pat, or Patty, as she was known to her family and friends, was born in San Diego, California on September 19, 1932. She grew up in San Pedro, California, and graduated from San Pedro High School in 1950. She met her husband of 65 years, John (Jay) M. Jerkovich, Jr., in San Pedro, and they later moved to Gig Harbor, where she spent the rest of her life. 

Pat worked as a Travel Agent at Gig Harbor Travel World for many years, and traveled the world with her husband and family, and loved cruising. A world class shopper, especially at her favorite store, Nordstrom, she loved beautiful clothes, shoes, and jewelry. She was devoted to her beloved pets throughout her life, especially her dogs. 

She is survived by her husband, John, her children Juleeann Jerkovich Loreth of Orlando, FL; Joni Dupille and Son-in-law Dave, of Gig Harbor; John Jr., and Son-in-law John N. Berg of Ridgefield, WA; Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law, Mary Ellen (Jerkovich) and Mark Gilmour, of Tacoma;  was “Nuni” to her Granddaughter Abigale, and fiancé, David Roskoph.  She also leaves behind her beloved Wheaton Terrier, Polly, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. 

Viewing for family and friends at Haven of Rest Cemetery at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 11. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, January 12 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Remembrances may be made to Prison Pet Partnership.org (9601 Bujacich Rd. NW, Gig Harbor, WA 98332).
