Philip A Greyell

Philip A Greyell passed from this earth to heaven on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. Philip was born on August 24, 1927 in Snoqualmie, Washington. He was raised in Bremerton. At seventeen years of age, Philip joined the Coast Guard during WWII. He was taken to the seas, including other countries. Following the war, Philip enrolled at Northwest Bible College, in Kirkland, WA where he met the love of his life, Joyce Holihan. They dated throughout school. After they both graduated in the spring of 1949, they were married the same year on September 10. They moved to Hot Springs, Montana, where they pioneered a thriving Children’s Ministry on Saturday mornings. Two years following the birth of their first son, Stephen, they moved back to Washington and settled in north Tacoma. There Philip worked many years for Carnation Dairy & Darigold in Seattle, along with extra side jobs, as they raised five children. Following retirement, they moved to Plains, Montana, where they happily resided for 17 years before Joyce went home to heaven. Philip and Stephen remained in Montana as two bachelors for another nine years, while enjoying being involved at Harvest Community Church. In 2019, Philip & Stephen moved back to Tacoma, Wa. Philip is survived by his five children, Stephen Greyell, Joy Esther, Sheldon Greyell, Sharilyn (Richard) Pollen, and Starlene (Greg) Martin. There are nine grandchildren. Philip loved the Lord Jesus with all his heart and was always excited to share his faith and many stories. He will be greatly missed.
