Robert Nixon Moore

Robert Nixon Moore. Husband. Father. Grandfather. Friend. Bob passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on February 28, 2023. He lived 83 years and impacted everyone he touched. He was loved and he loved. He was born in Selma, Alabama and raised in Chattahoochee, Florida. He served in the Airforce, where he met the love of his life, Vonnie. Bob graduated from Auburn University and spent a 30 year career as an Aeronautical Engineer at Boeing, leading several national and international projects, including the SST. Bob and Vonnie moved to Washington in 1969 and to Gig Harbor in 2000. There was nothing that he cherished more than being with family and he raised four children, whom he was proud of and who were all very proud of him. Survived by Vonnie (wife of 60 years), children David, Stephen, Kathryn (Miller), Brian, and five grandchildren. He was our rock. He was loved dearly and will be forever missed. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Allen Institute for Brain Science. A service will be held Sunday, March 12, 1pm at Haven of Rest in Gig Harbor.
