Obituary

Long time Port Orchard Resident Robert L Shelton 84 Passed away of heart failure on June 2nd, 2021, at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. He was born in Oakland Ca on Sept 9th, 1936, to parents Walter E and Vera J Shelton.  After Robert got out of school, he joined the USAF and then Us Army and the US Army Reserves. After 26 plus years in the services Robert retired from service as a Sergeant First Class after his last deployment to Saudi Arabia with a commendation from the king of Saudi Arabia. Robert was married to his lovely wife Marion L Shelton for 27 years.

When Robert was not Serving our country, he was a Mechanic / Tow Truck Driver. He belonged to the Fraternal of Eagles #2338 of Port Orchard where he was a past president. He was also a member of the VFW.

Robert was a loving husband, father and a downright awesome man of strength and wisdom. Robert had a very Quirky sense of humor. He loved telling jokes better than anyone. He could hear or read the joke and tell it to others right away. Robert also loved watching western movies, anything with John Wayne or Charles Bronson. He also loved reading his Louis L’Amour books. Robert was also an avid golfer.

He was Predeceased by Parents Walter and Vera Shelton, Thomas (Buddy) Lynnwood Shelton and Carl Shelton.

He is survived by Dorothy Bartucci sister from Fresno Ca, Glenda Hammonds sister from El Dorado Ca, Eddie Shelton of Bremerton Wa, Son Randall Lee Shelton of Wasilla Ak, Son Russel Alan Shelton Aka Tucker of Wasilla Ak, Son Robert Lee Shelton Jr of Port Orchard Wa. As well as many Grand Children.

Robert will have a Military Service Entombment on June 26th at 11Am at Haven of Rest Cemetery in Gig Harbor WA. and a reception at the Port Orchard Eagles Following the Service. Pallbearers are Randy Shelton, Russel Tucker, Robert Shelton Jr. Franklin Rusk, Brant Morris, Austin Collett.
