Russell Alberding was the father of 2 girls and the son of Mabel Gerhardt. He was born in Sydney, Nebraska and made his home in Olalla, Washington.

His family members include his brothers,  Neil (Karen) Alberding, Forrest (Dawna) Alberding, David (Mary) Alberding, Kevin Alberding and Ronnie Alberding; and his daughters, Amy Churchill and Jennifer Hunt.

Russell was a retired civil servant and a multi-talented man. He loved his family and cared deeply for his parents. He loved music, sports, cars, and movies.
